Hello fellow bloggers and devoted readers. Forgive the absence of my daily updates on this Hollywood Farm blog. Promise I‘ve been keeping up with all of you and have NO IDEA HOW YOU FIND THE TIME TO UPDATE EVERY DAY? Bravo to you all! The New Year came with a new mission and creative inspiration. Go here if you would like to see what I’ve been doing creatively. http://shleegyrocks.blogspot.com/.
The time allotted in my schedule to sit in front of my MacBook to punch out a tale or two has not revealed it’s self throughout the summer. Thankfully school starts on Wednesday and our Little’s will be away all day appropriately exercising their minds .
Back to updating blog posts? No, I’ll be busy minimizing our home packing up our lives to head West, just as the pioneers who came before us have.
Living on this farm and in it's 100 year old farmhouse has been one of the greatest times of my life. Unfortunately the stars are not aligned with my desire to live reclusively as my husband’s career in film production continues to move forward. We've spent the last five years of our marriage seperated by several states. So I'm claiming my husband and marraige back by moving to the State of which he has been employed. I’m saddened to announce that we will be leaving the farm life to go back to Hollywood. WAAHHH! I’ll be fine REALLY!!
I’ll do my best to capture every second of living in this small town on this blog to treasure the memories we’ve created here. I’ve fallen in love with Greenfield. I'm so thankful for all that I’ve learned while living in the Midwest. This farmhouse I feel, is truly home. I'm certain that we can create a home anywhere our family is, but deep down it won’t feel like this place. On the upside, it will be wonderful to greet my husband every night after a long day of work instead of losing a day after his return to the jet lag that he has been wearing like an old concert-tee. My children are blessed to have had the chance to live here. They adore our farm, and were saddened when we told them we were selling. Their outbursts were so strong that they talked us into keeping the farm and renting it out. So here I am ready to pack my life up again and move it across country.
Where will we live? The question of the hour. We’re not sure. One thing we ARE sure of this: Wherever we go, there must be a great school within walking distance. I REFUSE TO GET ON THE FREEWAY TO DRIVE MY KIDS TO SCHOOL! I AM KICKING AND SCREAMING REFUSING!! Especially after we’ve been spoiled by having the children get picked up and dropped off right in front of the house. Our hearts are set on an excellent elementary school and marine science center in Malibu. If we can’t surround them by miles and miles of earth and farmland, then surrounding our kids around miles and miles of ocean will have to suffice.
So farewell Hollywood Farm, I’m sure we will create a farm like atmosphere where ever we roam. For now it's MALIBU OR BUST!!!

The words "New Mission" and "Creative Inspiration" hit me in the head like a bolt of lightining. We are in the EXACT same boat as you right now. My husband being a musician is constantly travelling to and fro all over the country but especially to L.A. We have this crazy struggle in wanting to raise our kids in our sweet cabin on our acres of land in our mountain town. The reality. The Hubs is gone ALOT. Studio work, Gigs, Writing, this is not the place where it happens. We just went out 2 weeks ago to scout. Our L.A. Cronies are trying to get us to move back. We checked out Calabasas, Thousand Oaks to Camarillo. And of course Malibu (out of our range). I don't want to be IN the city. Or in the Valley really. We used to live there. Not my thing. Anyway, it seems the signs are everywhere for us. I haven't been blogging for awhile until last night, then I see your blog this morning..the signs. So conflicted. What to do with our slice of heaven house? Rent, Sell? Wait until the school year is over? Ugh. So much. I love reading your blog. I look forward to hearing about your new venture with R6 as well as all of your other creative endeavors. Good Luck with the move. Much Love and Well Wishes for your family. Geesh that was lengthy! :)
