Oh No Here Comes The Snow!

OK let the winter hysteria begin! The forecast says 3 1/2 to 4 inches of snow tomorrow! TOMORROW!! So the winter hysteria goes as follows for this southern California transplant
I hibernate  for the winter missing my daughter and family the whole time. The weather man says snow!  I freak out and start pulling out all of the cold gear for the children and start packing all of my summer gear literally in my carry-on suitcase for my next trip. I keep this stuff in California over the winter to make space for all of the cold clothing that is packed up during the warm months. Next I'm on a mission looking for some paper painter's tape, and the taping begins. Taping up the old cracks in the walls of  this old house has been a annual routine. Upon visiting one may think we've begun a new painting project. Nope! Last year, the year before that and the year before that, I wandered up and down these halls with painters tape feeling all of the baseboards and window jams for the freezing air that may be coming in. I find
a cold spot, grab a long piece of tape, and tape up that biatch! Handy man Brian come by last month to winterize the place. Turns out there are these vents that are at the bottom of our house that have never been closed up for the winter. WHO KNEW?? We never had to close up vents in California so how the hell would I friggin know this?  Hopefully the taping up the cracks part of the hysteria will be gone this year. (No kidding guys, 100 year old house needs 100 years of love.) The driving in the snow anxiety attacks are sure to start flooding the pages of my blog.  Sorry! I can drive any freeway in LA, any back road in
Hollywood at any speed required or allotted, while changing my clothes and rocking out to my favorite punk rock song. (back in the day I would have written while smoking a cig and drinking a gallon sized  coffee. I'm coming up on my one year anniversary with out grits. YAHOO) Driving in the sleet, snow and ice????? Who the hell ever gets used to that?? NOT ME !!!! UGHH!
Lunch with my uncle was great. He is so down to earth and really loves what he does. I asked him if he ever gets tired of singing Sister Christian over and over and over again. His answer, "It's all about the fans. If the fans are having a great time and perhaps are listening to the song for the first time live, then we are all taken in by the moment and have a great time."  It is apparent in their performances.
We didn't see the show but the Pho lunch date was marvelous! He commented on the article I wrote about him and asked for a copy to post on his site. HE told me how well written it was. I was sooo gushing! The platinum rock star liked MY little old article?  For now.........it's back to the  winter hysteria and perhaps a few good times in the snow!
ALL WHEEL DRIVE FAIRY PLEASE COME TO MY HOUSE!!!
Psst.. I was told yesterday by my new illustrator that she has already begun to  sketch illustrations  for my children's book. DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE WAITED FOR A TALENTED ARTIST TO SAY THESE WORDS TO ME? My eyes immediately flooded with tears, which prompted my hub to do the same. It's going to be great!  Check out my interview with my uncle.
