Dear Mom,I'm writing to let you know that I recognize all of the hard work that you've done and are still doing. Being a hair stylist all these years, starting in the 60's, I'm sure you have seen your share of really bad hair cuts. Of course not now while you are the owner of your own shop and work

with the best of the best. I now understand why you stopped giving us hair cuts at home in our teen years after all of that complaining we did. "It's to long here, it's to short there, why is that piece standing up there?" I'm writing to tell you, well I've picked up your tradition of giving out the homemade haircuts, although my NOT being a stylist is kinda getting in the way. Of course all of those years of my sitting in your salons, sweeping
hair and folding towels does not give me the right to be
doing any type of haircutting. I understand this! But having 3 little ones, could be an expensive day out at the salon, now that we don't have our own personal salon and stylist at our fingertips, or I should say , hairlines. Plus half of the beauty school grads who are cutting hair out her don't know what the hell they are doing. So I'm writing in advance to apologize for making your grandson look like Dr. Spock, even with his toe headed blond. I know I made a deal

with you when I tried to cut his hair last year. You shook your head, as well as one of your stylists who fixed the very bad, bad clipper job I gave him without the clipper guard last year, (what do you call that thingy?) and I promised not to ever use the clippers again. I didn't use them this time, really! What I did use were the old scissors that came with the clippers. Today I am vowing not cut his hair again, not until spring. Yes I am growing his hair long, this winter. I am a believer that his long locks will eventually be utilized as a scarf over the long winter and will keep him warm. Plus he will look like a little surfer boy, in honor of the boy he would have become if we still lived in Southern California. Miss you! Thank God it's only hair! PS. I wont show you what I did to the girl's hair.

This is HILARIOUS : ) Oh my gosh! Great letter : ) and great post! Especially loved your ending about the girls! I saw your comment at Scary Mommy and I had to come over and say hi. Those real housewives are just TOO TOO TOO TOO much. I can't take it. And I can't get enough. Nice to meet you and your child with spock hair : )
Thank you! I am so lucky I didn't near scalp him last year. You think I would have learned my lesson! Geeze!
Thanks for reading!
