It's Here

So it's here! I'm not well, really not well at all. I know it looks pretty but to me, it's a sure sign of the winter blues that will be inching it's self closer and closer within each snowflake! Blogger mommies and friends...please tell this Los Angeles native how to have fun in snow! Really I need to dump this "NO SNOW" attitude! The kids are happy for it. I need to get on the, "It's snowing! " with excitement train. Any suggestions?  I am booking my trip back to California TODAY!!!  If I can help it I will be cheering in the New Year on Los Angels soil! You can bet I'll be working on my tan!

Being from Canada, where we get quite a bit of snow during the winter months, I have to say... I am not a fan of it at all! Okay, I take that back - I love the snow during the month of December, because it makes everything look so pretty and festive! But after Christmas, I wish it would all just go away! My children love the snow, too - so that means this mama has to spend time outside even though I hate the cold! So um... have fun? ;)

Snow is the only good thing about the cold season. You should look at it like this: there is more light, so you will get less depressed. Then you should get a sledge. And have lots of fun with the kids. Also: the magic of the perfect symmetry in an individual snowflake, as well as the fact that they are all different can keep you amazed for hours. And then there's snowballs, and snowmen, and colourful mittens, and gluhwein.

Just wrap up very very very warm. The only way you can really enjoy the snow is if you yourself are warm. So big jacket, proper boots, and hat, scarf, mittens.

I no longer live in Los Angels, I love in Indiana. But I did hear that there is quite a bit of snow in the Los Angeles mountains.

Oh thanks so much for your comment earlier. We HAVE to stick together!! Together we are strong right?? I'm glad you went public with your blog...it really is a huge love fest and the support that it brings is priceless. Email me anytime to talk or vent. I love hearing from other bloggers. And no that isn't my farm:( I live in a boring subdivision, but that farm is practically in my backyard. That is the view from my deck...I guess it's the next best thing. I dream of having my own one day. Hope you have a bright sunny day:)

I wonder where in Indiana you are... I went to college in Anderson and it was soooooo depressingly cold.

Now I live in Cleveland and it's still quite cold, but I've learned some winter coping strategies. Lots of lights on. Christmas lights that stay up in strategic locations. Space heaters. Fires in the fireplace. Plan on wearing long underwear each day. Make lots of hot cocoa, cookies, and spiced cider. Spare no expense on warm outerwear, including snow pants.

I feel your pain.
